Unplugged relations

Client: Fritz Hansen
Year: 2014

Republic of Fritz Hansen™ is launching two products at Salone Internazionale del Mobile in 2014. The new table Analog™, which is designed by the world-famous Spanish designer Jaime Hayon, and the reintroduction of the iconic Arne Jacobsen chair – The Drop™. Both designs invite us to notice and cherish each other’s presence. We live in a world where we are all very focused and dependent on being online all the time. As a consequence of this lifestyle, we often spend time with others without really being together. The two products challenge this trend by bringing us closer together.

Analog is not a square, not a circle, not an oval – it is a new form that takes the best from the three classic shapes and brings them together in a new, organic form. There is no hierarchy, just a beautiful platform for conversations which is a perfect match for modern relationships among family members, friends and colleagues.

The Drop is a small chair with a big personality. As fresh and vibrant as a new design but with a rare heritage, the Drop comes with an unmistakable personality that is far greater than its simplicity suggests. The attention to detail and the unique design create a bold and exceptional statement that makes the Drop as relevant today as it was 50 years ago.
