Lanificio F.lli Cerruti dal 1881
Year: 2012
Umit Benan has chosen Lanificio Cerruti Parcour for his “military on leave” FW 2012-13 collection, a fabric with an urban-sportswear soul. Parcour comes from the historic archives of the woolen mill, from a special line created between 1920 and 1950 for dress and parade uniforms for the various branches of the armed forces.
The thirty-year old Turk gets excited when he talks about his first meeting with Nino Cerruti in the Biella woolen mill. “For me he was a legend, the most elegant man in the world. I had studied his books on clothing, like those in the film Wall Street and American Psycho, and when he opened the archives for me I was extremely happy. I am inspired by his classic and relaxed style and use these precious fabrics that are both antique and modern at the same time.”
